CIL Academy is an arm of Cecure Intelligence limited that offers tech programs and courses from beginner to advanced. Limited
This idea was born out of building a pool of African tech talent in Africa for Africa and the world. We focused on creating an experience that facilitates easy accessibility to programs, courses and registration. This helped us achieve over 1,000 student registrations and 80% conversion rate.

Starting the academy, the website and LMS were done using WordPress, while this was usable for taking courses, it was not customisable enough to give the flexibility we wanted for the landing page. This led to an increase in the drop-off rate and low conversion rate. We also had issues with marketing as the website was not giving the conversion we wanted.

I looked into the current limitations by auditing the existing website. After this was done, I reviewed the log for feedback on the website, which gave us an idea of the issues users were facing. I collaborated with marketing to identify some of the challenges they faced with website conversion concerning their marketing campaigns. We outlined plans to collaborate in coming up with solutions.

In developing solutions, I conducted a competitor analysis, examining Zuri Internship, Alt School, Utiva, Codeacademy, and Memorisely. From this, I was able to leverage their strategies and identify opportunities for CIL Academy. I collaborated with marketing throughout the design process to ensure we had compelling copies and that each page was designed to convert the audience into students. I created a style guide and a mini-component library to ensure consistency.

Conclusion
The completion of the website helped us drive measurable progress on the website and hit our KPIs. Students were able to register easily, which increased our conversion rate. The marketing team were also able to hit their goals. We constantly iterated, tested ideas and ensured we aligned with both marketing and customer support for feedback and requests.
